INTRODUCTION

The IGA seeks to advance the knowledge of groundwater resources in Illinois and functions exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Any person interested in the groundwater resources of Illinois can join the IGA. Our membership includes consulting engineers, geologists and other professionals; faculty and students from colleges and universities; the public; people from federal, state, county, and municipal agencies and organizations; and people from drilling companies and other industries with an interest in groundwater. Our most active members are listed in the IGA Directory of Expertise.

Regular activities of the Association include spring and fall meetings, which consist of speakers, a luncheon, and discussions of current groundwater issues and research. New presentation ideas for the meetings are always welcome. The Association also sponsors grants for students conducting groundwater research at an Illinois college or university and has given $13,495 in direct financial support to date.
